Happy New 2013! Pikes Peak Scrapper Tip #1 Premade kits are great!

One of my New Year's resolutions is to blog more and actually finish projects and move forward knowing there aren't any actual rules to follow, except to follow my heart and my checkbook :)  If you are like me, you always have more things to do than the actual time to do them.

Every year I make photo calendars for members of my family and I made one for our family for the first time last year.  Why should everyone else enjoy the pictures and not us!  While taking apart my 2012 calendar pages that actually had 2011 pictures on it and placing them in my 2011 scrapbook, I realized, wow, that my 2012 annual scrapbook highlights were now done and our family can enjoy them all year without having to pull out a book!

I had big plans to use up stash to make our calendar, but since I seem to have that pesky problem of more project than time, I found a packaged set from My Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby that was on sale after the holidays.  It was marked down to $12 and what a bargain!  I didn't have to spend the time searching for matching papers and stickers, and for $1 a month, there was no way I could make it that cheaply!

The moral of the story -- (Besides not biting off more than you can chew, or starting more than you can finish, I think you get the idea)  -- it's okay to use premade sets and they look great and no one will think you were lazy.  They (and you) will love the pictures!  The goal is to get it done, and now we have something to enjoy for months to come!

Thanks for spending time with me.  Now, it's on to the next project and another PPS tip......
